RECIPIENT INFORMATION
In order to be considered a candidate for CRMI's oocyte donation
program, recipient couples must meet certain medical and psychological
requirements. If you would like to receive our detailed recipient information
packet, please email us at donoregg-cornell@med.cornell.edu
Before visiting our center, you will need to request copies
of your medical records from the physicians who have been treating
you. Please include the following test results if they have
been performed:
- Results from HIV, Hepatitis BS/AG, Hepatitis C, and VDRL
if they have been performed within the last 12 months;
- Copies of any abdominal and/or pelvic operative notes;
- Recent semen analysis report and any other pertinent male
infertility diagnostic tests;
- Written hysterosalpingogram (HSG) report (please bring actual
films to your initial consultation);
- Stimulation sheets from previous IVF or IUI treatment cycles;
- Your physician's progress notes
The physician will conduct a detailed overview regarding your
previous medical history, diagnosis, donor oocyte procedures,
type of donor requested (sister or anonymous), and a complete
physical exam. All previous medical records will be reviewed
and discussed including laboratory results and hysterosalpingogram
(HSG). This is the time when it is determined whether oocyte
donation is the appropriate treatment path for you. This visit
usually lasts for 1 - 2 hours.
Each prospective recipient couple must also meet with one
of the program psychologists. This is usually a 1 hour appointment
in which your personal concerns, oocyte donation issues, disclosure
issues, and anonymity are discussed in detail. The psychologist
is on staff to assist you with any difficulties you might have
during your treatment here.
An Oocyte Donation nurse meets with each couple to explain
in detail the program guidelines, the approximate waiting period,
the necessary preparatory cycle, and the medication requirements
that are necessary for an oocyte donation cycle.
