Lucinda Veeck Gosden is Director of Embryology at the Center for Reproductive
Medicine and Infertility. She played an important role in the
history of modern infertility treatment when she helped to established
the very first IVF laboratory in the United States in Virginia
in 1980, and was a member of the team that helped to complete
the first successful IVF procedure in the U.S.
A specialist in issues ranging from laboratory techniques in
embryology to quality control, Dr. Veeck Gosden has lectured around
the world before medical audiences and is the author of three
of the most widely used reference works on in vitro fertilization.
At CRMI, she leads one of the largest embryology laboratories
in the world with a team of ten embryologists and laboratory
technicians.
Dr. Veeck Gosden received an Honorary Doctorate of Science from Eastern Virginia Medical School, and is the author or co-author of more than 120 articles on medical topics published in leading trade publications. She served on the executive board of the Society for Assisted Reproductive Technology, among her many other medical association affiliations.
